Studio Productions presents its next Theatre in the Bar at Bingley Arts Centre on 12 November 2026. The event – entitled Fireworks – will feature 5-minute monologues/duologues, poetry, original songs and stand-up comedy sets. The callout for submissions is open from 20th July 2026 until 25th September 2026. The terms & conditions are below.

Terms & Conditions
Theatre in the Bar features 5-minute, self-produced pieces which are suitable for an adult audience. We are looking for the following:
- Monologue/duologue scripts
- Poetry
- Original songs (for solo/duet a cappella or acoustic performances)
- Stand-up comedy (pre-scripted set)
When submitting, please note the following:
- The closing date for submissions is noon on Friday 25th September 2026 and only one submission per contributor.
- Material must be the original work of the contributor and must not infringe UK/international copyright or the intellectual property rights of others.
- The use of generative writing programmes or artificial intelligence in the writing of any material is strictly prohibited.
- The submission should run for approximately 5 minutes when performed.
- Writers retain full copyright and all intellectual property rights.
- Work that is defamatory, illegal, or incites hatred will not be considered and risks being reported to the relevant authorities.
- Writers should flag any material containing sensitive themes.
- Writers grant Studio Productions a non-exclusive, one-off licence to:
- select the material for the event
- present it publicly at the event.
- No further use of the material will be made without the writer’s/performer’s express permission.
- Studio Productions will not record or distribute video/audio publicly of the event unless the writer/performer agrees in writing. Still images of performances will be shared by Studio Productions as post-event publicity.
- Material is self-produced, so successful contributors must be able to attend Bingley Arts Centre in person, with performers if not performing the material themselves. Bingley Arts Centre is in Yorkshire, England.
- Performers must be 18 or over.
- Material should be performed off-book.
- The performance space is approximately 3m by 2m.
- A sound system will be available for intro/outro music and/or backing tracks only.
- While a full dress/technical rehearsal is not possible, the performance space will be available for a short time prior to the public entering the building for the 7.30pm start.
- Scripts, poetry or song lyrics details should be emailed to bacitch@myyahoo.com for consideration. Song lyric submissions must also include a sound-file of the proposed song.
- The covering email must confirm the submitter’s name, age and home postcode. When someone other than the writer is due to perform the material, details of the performer(s) should also be provided. The email must flag sensitive material and provide relevant trigger warnings. The email must confirm that these terms and conditions have been read and understood.
- Participation is voluntary, and writers agree no fee is payable.
- Feedback can be obtained by interacting with the audience and judging its reaction to the material.
- Submission does not guarantee inclusion.
- The producer’s decision is final.
- Studio Productions reserve the right to adapt the running order or withdraw pieces for logistical reasons.
- Performance date, location and format are subject to change.
- Studio Productions reserve the right to cancel the event for reasons beyond their control (low submissions, venue issues, illness, etc.) without liability.
- Contact information will only be used for event administration.
- No details will be shared with third parties without consent.
- Prior to the event, successful contributors will be asked for publicity photographs and social media profiles. Studio Productions will circulate pre-show publicity on its Facebook and Instagram pages as well as with Bingley Little Theatre members and the wider public.
- Successful contributors are asked to like and share publicity material where possible.
- Successful contributors will be notified that their material has been selected.
